About the role

A welcoming primary school in Redbridge is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Part-Time Job Share Teacher to join its team for two days per week.

This opportunity would suit a qualified teacher with proven primary classroom experience who is confident planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing pupil progress and working collaboratively with a job-share partner and wider school team.

Please note that this role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers. Applicants should have previous experience teaching in a primary school and be confident taking responsibility for a class.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across the primary curriculum.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress effectively.
  • Provide clear feedback and support pupils to achieve their potential.
  • Maintain high expectations for learning, behaviour and personal development.
  • Work closely with the job-share partner to ensure continuity for pupils.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents and carers.
  • Contribute to planning, assessment and wider school activities.
  • Support the school’s safeguarding, inclusion and wellbeing priorities.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow school policies and procedures.

About you

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Have previous experience teaching in a primary school.
  • Be confident teaching across the primary age range.
  • Have strong curriculum knowledge and effective classroom-management skills.
  • Be organised, reliable and able to manage responsibilities independently.
  • Work collaboratively with a job-share partner and wider staff team.
  • Have high expectations of all pupils.
  • Be creative, adaptable and committed to inclusive education.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
  • Be available to work two days per week.
