Learning and Care Support Assistants
Hayes and Uxbridge
Permanent and term time only
£24,572 (Actual salary for 36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year)
Working pattern 8:45am – 4:30pm
(May consider part time – 4 days per week)
We are seeking enthusiastic and caring individuals to provide support for learners with Profound and Multiple learning difficulties. This role will involve supporting students to integrate into the College, encouraging them towards independence and supporting them with personal care, feeding and medication.
We are seeking individuals with experience of working with young people, and experience of supporting people with learning difficulties/disabilities. You should be trained in manual handling and administering medication or will be willing to undertake training in these areas. You will be able to work effectively as part of a team and be able to motivate and support young people.
The working pattern for these posts will be 8.45am - 4.30pm with a 30-minute lunch break each day. We can offer full-time hours (36 per week), or part-time hours at 4 days (28.8 hours per week).
Please note: for individuals who start a term time only role after 1st September, the salary will be pro-rated from the start date to the end of this academic year (31st August 2027). This ensures that the correct entitlement to pay and holiday pay relative to the portion of the year worked. This will be paid in equal monthly instalments until 31 August. The salary will revert to the normal arrangements as stated in the advert at the start of the following academic year.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Good standard of education including Maths and English, preferably at minimum of GCSE Grade C/grade 4 or equivalent
Experience of working with or supporting young people
Manual handling training or willing to undertake this
Medication training or willing to undertake this
Experience of working with people with learning difficulties/ disabilities
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Good organisational skills
Ability to engage, support and motivate students
Ability and willingness to carry out personal care duties including assisting learners in using the toilet facilities
Able to help students access all parts of the site and empower them to travel independently
Flexible approach to work
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability and willingness to work at both Uxbridge and Barra Hall, Hayes
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Understanding of the difficulties facing individuals with learning difficulties/disabilities
