The opportunity

We are seeking a Temporary Lecturer in Business and Marketing to join our Service Industries department in Cambridge while we recruit for a permanent appointment.

This is an immediate-start opportunity for an experienced and fully vetted lecturer who can deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across Business and Marketing. The successful candidate will support learners’ academic progress, practical understanding and overall development in a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Due to the urgent nature of the position, we will only consider candidates who are fully vetted and ready to start immediately.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Business and Marketing lessons.
• Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and teaching resources.
• Teach and support learners across relevant Business and Marketing programmes.
• Use a range of teaching strategies to meet different learning needs.
• Assess learner work accurately and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Monitor attendance, engagement, progress and achievement.
• Maintain accurate records in line with college procedures.
• Support learners with target setting and personal development.
• Contribute to course planning, quality assurance and team meetings.
• Promote equality, diversity, safeguarding and positive behaviour.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Service Industries department.

About you

The successful candidate will have:

• Relevant qualifications and/or substantial industry experience in Business and Marketing.
• Experience teaching, training or supporting learners in a further education setting.
• Strong knowledge of business principles and marketing practices.
• The ability to plan and deliver effective, learner-centred sessions.
• Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
• A flexible and professional approach.
• A commitment to supporting learners from a wide range of backgrounds.
• The appropriate teaching, safeguarding and employment checks completed.
• Immediate availability.

A recognised teaching qualification and experience delivering vocational or further education programmes would be advantageous.
