Rate of Pay: £206 - £286 per day (dependent on experience)
Start date: October 2026 Start | Long-Term Role until July 2027

An exceptional secondary school in Lewisham is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Religious Studies Teacher to join its successful Humanities department on a long-term basis, starting in October 2026 and continuing until July 2027.

We are looking for an inspiring Religious Studies Teacher who can deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. There may also be opportunities to take on additional departmental responsibilities for candidates with the relevant experience.

The successful Religious Studies Teacher will have:

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (ECTs are welcome to apply)
• A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• A commitment to ongoing professional development

Teaching Experience

• Experience teaching Religious Studies within a secondary school
• Experience planning and delivering engaging, challenging lessons
• The ability to inspire pupils of all abilities to achieve their potential
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND and adapting teaching accordingly
• A track record of securing strong pupil progress
• Experience working collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues
• The ability to contribute positively to the wider school community

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of the secondary Religious Studies curriculum
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Effective use of assessment to inform teaching and learning
• Strong ICT skills to enhance classroom practice
• The ability to differentiate learning for pupils with varying needs, including EAL and SEND
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
