A welcoming and high-achieving primary school in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is seeking a confident and experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a long-term basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive Year 5 classroom, providing targeted support and leading interventions to help pupils prepare for the transition into Year 6.

The Role

  • Supporting teaching and learning within a Year 5 classroom
  • Delivering small group and 1:1 interventions, particularly in preparation for Year 6
  • Assisting pupils with varying academic needs, ensuring progress across core subjects
  • Managing behaviour effectively, maintaining a positive and focused learning environment
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider staff team

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has prior experience working within KS2, ideally in Year 5 or Year 6
  • Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills
  • Has a solid understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and expectations
  • Is proactive, confident, and able to lead interventions independently
  • Holds a passion for supporting pupil progress and attainment
