SEN Teacher (ARP – Autism Provision)

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barnet is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join their specialist Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) from September on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a well-supported setting with a small class of pupils with Autism, where you can make a meaningful and lasting impact.

The Role

You will take responsibility for a small ARP class of 7 pupils with Autism. All pupils are verbal and working at an adapted National Curriculum level, though some present with ADHD and associated challenging behaviours.

The role will involve:

  • Planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes
  • Creating a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment
  • Managing behaviour positively using consistent and effective strategies
  • Working closely with support staff, therapists, and external professionals
  • Monitoring progress and adapting teaching approaches to meet pupil needs

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience working with pupils with Autism, ideally within an ARP or specialist setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills, particularly with ADHD and challenging behaviours
  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
  • Commitment to inclusive education and personalised learning
