We are excited to be opening a brand new nursery in Bexley this September and are seeking a dedicated Speech and Language HLTA to join our founding team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping early communication support within a brand-new setting, helping children build essential language and communication skills from their earliest years.

About the Role

As a Speech and Language HLTA, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager and wider team to support children with speech, language, and communication needs. You will deliver targeted interventions, support inclusive practice, and help create a communication-rich environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver speech and language interventions and targeted support programmes
• Support children with additional needs, ensuring inclusive practice across the nursery
• Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals (e.g. SALT services)
• Contribute to observations, assessments, and individual support plans
• Promote a language-rich environment across all areas of the nursery

Requirements

• HLTA status or relevant qualification/experience in speech and language support
• Experience working with young children, ideally within an early years setting
• Strong understanding of speech, language, and communication development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive, nurturing, and child-centred approach
