A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Lewisham is seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant for the full academic year starting September 2026.

This is a full-time, term-time only position, offering a competitive daily rate of £100–£110, dependent on experience.

The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support to a pupil in a Year 3 class, working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement tailored support strategies. The role will focus on enabling the pupil to access the Key Stage 2 curriculum, supporting social and emotional development, and promoting positive behaviour within the classroom.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a strong understanding of KS2 learning expectations. A calm, patient, and consistent approach is essential, alongside the ability to build positive and trusting relationships.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have proven experience working with children with ASD
  • Have experience supporting pupils within Key Stage 2
  • Be confident delivering 1:1 support within a classroom setting
  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and committed to supporting pupil progress
