SEN Teacher – ARP (Autism Resource Provision)

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barnet to recruit a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join their Autism Resource Provision (ARP) on a permanent basis from September.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with a small group of 8 pupils across Years 3–6, all of whom have Autism, with some pupils also presenting with ADHD and associated challenging behaviours. The school is committed to providing a nurturing, structured, and supportive environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver tailored, engaging lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with Autism
• Develop and implement EHCP-focused learning strategies and interventions
• Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development
• Use effective behaviour management strategies to support pupils with additional needs, including ADHD
• Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCO, and external professionals
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching approaches to ensure positive outcomes for all pupils

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Proven experience working with pupils with Autism (ASD) in a primary or specialist setting
• Strong understanding of SEN strategies, including behaviour management and differentiation
• Experience supporting pupils with ADHD and challenging behaviours is highly desirable
• A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to teaching and learning
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
