Class Teacher with Subject Lead Responsibilities

A welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Wandsworth is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Class Teacher with Subject Lead Responsibilities to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident primary teacher who is ready to take the next step in their career and contribute to both classroom teaching and wider curriculum leadership.

The school is looking for a motivated teacher who can deliver high-quality lessons, inspire pupils, and help drive improvement across a curriculum area. This role would suit an experienced teacher or a strong ECT with leadership potential and a genuine passion for primary education.

The Role

  • Teach a class within the primary phase.
  • Take responsibility for leading one or more curriculum subjects.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and well-structured lessons.
  • Support curriculum development and contribute to subject planning.
  • Monitor pupil progress and use assessment effectively to inform teaching.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, achievement, and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and senior leadership.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and curriculum enrichment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Experience teaching in a primary school setting.
  • A strong classroom presence and excellent behaviour management.
  • Passionate about teaching and curriculum development.
  • Confident taking responsibility for a subject area.
  • Organised, reflective, and committed to high standards.
  • Able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Open to experienced teachers and ambitious ECTs.
