A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a committed and enthusiastic Year 6 Class Teacher to join a thriving primary school in Westminster from September. This is an excellent role for a teacher who is passionate about upper primary education and confident in preparing pupils for the transition to secondary school.

The school is looking for a teacher who can inspire, challenge, and support pupils to achieve their very best in a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will play a key role in helping children develop the confidence, independence, and resilience they need to succeed in Year 6 and beyond.

The Role

  • Teach a Year 6 class and deliver high-quality lessons across the curriculum.
  • Prepare pupils effectively for end-of-key-stage assessments.
  • Plan engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Use assessment to monitor progress and inform teaching.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, presentation, and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and families.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and the upper primary team.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Experience teaching in upper primary, ideally Year 6.
  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and SATs preparation.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisation skills.
  • A reflective, resilient, and proactive teaching style.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and high standards.
