Art Teacher (ECT Ideal)
Location: Southend

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and creative Art Teacher to join a welcoming and well-respected school in Southend from September 2026. This role would be ideal for an ECT looking to begin their teaching career in a supportive environment, although applications are also welcome from more experienced teachers with a strong subject specialism.

The school is seeking a teacher who can inspire pupils through engaging, imaginative, and high-quality Art lessons. You will be joining a department that values creativity, high expectations, and a commitment to helping every pupil develop confidence, technical skill, and a love of the subject.

The Role

  • Teach Art across KS3 and KS4.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that stretch and inspire learners.
  • Support pupils to develop practical, creative, and analytical skills.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the department and school.
  • Assess, track, and monitor pupil progress effectively.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, achievement, and presentation.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • An Art specialism or relevant subject background.
  • An ECT looking for a strong first post, or an experienced teacher seeking a new challenge.
  • Strong classroom presence and excellent communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for Art and for supporting pupil progress.
  • Creative, reflective, and committed to inclusive practice.
  • Able to motivate and engage pupils of all abilities.
