Learning Support Mentor – Service Industries
Location: Cambridge
Hours: Full Time (37 hours per week), Term Time Only
Salary: £21,785 per annum (actual salary) – equivalent to £24,577 full time

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded Further Education college in Cambridge, who are seeking a Learning Support Mentor to join their Service Industries team.

The Role:

You will play a key role in supporting students with learning difficulties and disabilities, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Working closely with teaching staff and under the guidance of the Learning Support Manager, you will provide support across a range of learning environments.

Key duties include:

  • Supporting learners in and out of the classroom
  • Assisting with note taking, reading, and use of assistive technologies
  • Helping students develop independence and confidence in their learning
  • Adapting support strategies to meet individual learner needs
  • Supporting the development of language, literacy, and study skills

Requirements:

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
  • Recent experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, supportive, and proactive approach
