We are working in partnership with a successful and forward-thinking Academy in Hertfordshire to recruit a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their team from September 2026 on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a high-performing English department within a modern academy environment that places a strong emphasis on academic achievement, innovation, and staff development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)
  • Foster a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking among students
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress to ensure strong outcomes
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
  • Uphold high expectations for behaviour and achievement

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in English or a related subject
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English education
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A commitment to raising attainment and supporting all learners
