We are expanding our provision of Electrical Installation, Plumbing and Building Services, with new facilities scheduled to open in September 2026, which will offer industry-standard workshops and classrooms. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking passionate and skilled professionals to join our team and help shape the next generation of tradespeople.
You will be qualified to Level 3 in Electrical Installation, with experience gained within the industry, and some teaching / training experience. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team, and with many training and development opportunities and scope for promotion within the College, you will be embarking on a varied and rewarding career. We will support you to develop your career in teaching, including fully funding the teacher training qualification.
We offer 43 days annual leave plus bank holidays and college closure period.

As a Lecturer, you will be joining a friendly and supportive team with a range of industry experience, committed to the success of our learners. With many training and development opportunities and scope for promotion within the College, you will be embarking on a varied and rewarding career. We will support you to develop your career in teaching, including fully funding the Level 5 teacher training qualification, which is undertaken at the College.
The main purpose of the job is to ensure the retention and achievement of students through the delivery of good practice in teaching and learning. The Lecturer will teach, develop and improve programmes of study in subjects and courses relevant to the post-holder’s knowledge, qualifications and experience.
Qualifications:
· Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Electrical Installation
· GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or equivalent, or willing to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths
· Minimum Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. DET/Cert Ed**) or willingness and ability to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification, supported by the College
· Assessor qualification (TAQA or equivalent) or willing to obtain
Knowledge and Experience:
· Experience of working in the electrical installation industry
· Teaching/training experience in the subject area
Other Skills:
· Ability to engage vocational learners and adapt teaching to meet a range of levels and needs of learners
· Ability to plan, deliver and assess lessons effectively
· Good communication skills, written and verbal
· Good interpersonal skills
· Ability to demonstrate good classroom management
· Ability to use IT within the curriculum, or willing to learn
The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references.
