Part-Time Lecturer – Travel & Tourism

Location: Uxbridge
Hours: 14.4 hours per week (2 days per week, including Friday)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £13,372 – £18,647 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Part-Time Lecturer – Travel & Tourism to join a successful and supportive Travel & Tourism department in Uxbridge.

About the Department

The Travel & Tourism section offers a wide range of industry-focused courses, with particular emphasis on aviation, airline operations, hospitality, and tourism. Through strong employer links with organisations in and around Heathrow Airport, learners are successfully prepared for future employment or progression into higher education.

Students benefit from specialist facilities including a mock aircraft cabin and travel agency environment, alongside valuable work experience placements and employer engagement opportunities.

The Role

As a Part-Time Lecturer – Travel & Tourism, you will teach across a range of Travel & Tourism programmes from Level 1 through to Level 5, primarily supporting learners aged 16–19.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons, supporting student achievement, developing learning materials, and ensuring students gain the skills and knowledge needed for future success in the travel sector.

Key Responsibilities

You will contribute to learner retention and achievement through excellent teaching and support, while also helping to develop and improve curriculum programmes in line with industry standards.

The role includes lesson planning, assessment, student support, curriculum development, and integrating English, Maths, and digital learning into teaching.

Candidate Requirements

The successful Part-Time Lecturer – Travel & Tourism will demonstrate:

  • A minimum Level 3 qualification or degree in a relevant subject area
  • A recognised Level 5 teaching qualification within Further Education, or willingness to work towards one
  • Previous teaching or training experience
  • Industry experience within travel, tourism, aviation, or hospitality
  • Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding, learner achievement, and inclusive education
