SENCO (Maternity Cover) – Tower Hamlets
Start: ASAP
Contract: Long term until January

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join a thriving, inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets, with a strong commitment to ensuring every child achieves their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders, teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure high-quality, inclusive teaching and targeted interventions that enable all pupils to thrive.

Key Responsibilities - SENCO:

  • Lead and manage the provision for pupils with SEND across the school
  • Identify, assess, and monitor pupils requiring additional support
  • Develop and implement effective SEND strategies and interventions
  • Work collaboratively with staff to ensure inclusive classroom practice
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals
  • Maintain accurate records in line with statutory requirements
  • Contribute to the strategic development of SEND provision

The Ideal Candidate Will Have - SENCO:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • The National Award for SEN Coordination
  • Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND in a primary setting
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A commitment to inclusive education and high expectations for all pupils
