Are you a compassionate, patient, and proactive individual looking to make a real difference in a child’s education journey? A thriving primary school in Camden is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

The Role

  • Work closely with a pupil on a 1:1 basis, supporting emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to implement effective strategies and interventions.
  • Provide consistent, nurturing support that helps the pupil progress both academically and personally.
  • Encourage confidence, resilience, and positive behaviour in line with school values.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or similar additional needs (school or residential experience welcomed).
  • Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach with strong communication skills.
  • Reliable and confident working independently as well as within a supportive team.
  • Available for morning sessions Monday–Friday (approx. 8:30 AM–12:30 PM).
