Course Team Leader – English (GCSE & Functional Skills)

Location: Harrow
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

A successful and forward-thinking further education provider in Harrow is seeking an experienced and motivated English specialist to take on the role of Course Team Leader for GCSE and Functional Skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator with leadership potential (or existing leadership experience) to drive high-quality teaching, raise achievement, and support the continued development of the English provision.

The Role – Course Team Leader (English)

In this position, you will:

  • Lead and manage the delivery of GCSE and Functional Skills English courses
  • Support, coach, and develop teaching staff within the department
  • Monitor student progress and implement effective strategies to improve outcomes
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and ensure courses are engaging and inclusive
  • Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment
  • Play a key role in quality assurance and continuous improvement

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds a degree in English or a closely related subject
  • Has a Level 5 (or higher) teaching qualification
  • Has experience delivering GCSE and/or Functional Skills English
  • Demonstrates a strong track record of improving student outcomes
  • Has the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire both students and colleagues
  • Is organised, proactive, and committed to excellence in education
