Deputy Nursery Manager – Private Nursery Onsite at Mainstream Primary School

We are excited to launch a brand-new private nursery onsite at a mainstream primary school in Bexley, South-East London and are seeking a skilled Deputy Nursery Manager to join the team. This full-time, permanent position starting in September 2026 offers the chance to support the Nursery Manager and help establish a high-quality EYFS setting from the outset.

About the role

  • Assist the Nursery Manager in running the nursery as Deputy Nursery Manager, ensuring high-quality early years provision
  • Support daily operations, staff management, timetabling, and routines
  • Help maintain compliance with EYFS, Ofsted, and health & safety standards
  • Assist in planning and delivering the curriculum to meet children’s needs
  • Mentor and support nursery staff, promoting best practice
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and the wider school community
  • Monitor and report on children’s development and progress

Our nursery is a brand-new setting within a mainstream primary school, offering a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 0–5 years. As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in embedding the nursery’s inclusive and high-quality ethos from day one.

Who we are looking for

  • Qualified Deputy Nursery Manager (Level 3 or above in Early Years Leadership)
  • Proven experience in a deputy or senior leadership role in an EYFS setting
  • Strong organisational, leadership, and team management skills
  • Knowledge of EYFS, Ofsted requirements, and safeguarding procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for early years education and child development
