We’re looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tradesperson to join our team as a Bricklaying Lecturer at our well-established college in Cambridge.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced industry professional seeking a rewarding new career in education. You’ll deliver practical and theoretical brickwork training to learners on full-time and apprenticeship programmes, helping them develop technical competence and confidence in their trade.

You don’t need to have any previous teaching experience — full training, support, and the opportunity to gain a Level 5 teaching qualification will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, hands-on bricklaying sessions in both workshop and classroom settings.
  • Support learners to develop a strong foundation of practical skills, safety awareness, and industry knowledge.
  • Prepare, set up, and maintain materials, tools, and equipment for practical activities.
  • Monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and ensure training meets college standards and industry requirements.
  • Promote safe working practices and an inclusive, professional learning environment.

About You

  • Substantial, up-to-date experience working as a bricklayer within the construction industry.
  • A passion for your trade and a genuine interest in helping others learn.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • (Desirable) Any industry-related qualifications or site safety certifications.
