A welcoming and well-regarded Church of England primary school in Barnet is seeking to appoint a high-quality, experienced Year 3 Class Teacher to join their team as soon as possible until the end of the academic year. For the right candidate, there is a strong possibility of a permanent position from September.

The school is looking for a confident and highly effective classroom practitioner (MPS3–UPS) who can quickly establish high standards, deliver engaging and well-structured lessons, and support pupils in making strong academic and personal progress.

The Role - Year 3 Class Teacher

This role involves full class teacher responsibilities for a Year 3 class within Key Stage 2, including planning, assessment, and contributing to the wider life of the school. You will be joining a supportive and collaborative KS2 team where planning, ideas, and best practice are shared.

The successful candidate will be someone who can hit the ground running, establish clear routines, and create a calm, purposeful learning environment where pupils feel supported and challenged.

Key Responsibilities - Year 3 Class Teacher

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum
  • Ensure high expectations of behaviour, engagement, and achievement for all pupils
  • Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs
  • Differentiate learning to support pupils of varying abilities, including SEND and higher attainers
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture where all pupils feel valued
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and senior leaders
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community and ethos

The Ideal Candidate - Year 3 Class Teacher

The school is looking for a teacher who is:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in Key Stage 2
  • Currently teaching at MPS3 or above, up to UPS
  • A strong and reflective practitioner with a track record of good or outstanding teaching
  • Able to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  • Skilled at classroom management and establishing clear expectations
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage the demands of full class teacher responsibilities
  • Supportive of the values and ethos of a Church of England school
