Salary: £95–£110 per day (depending on experience)

A friendly and inclusive Primary School in Brent is seeking a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Upper Key Stage 2 (Year 5 and Year 6). Purpose of the Role:
The Upper Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to support children’s academic, social, and emotional development. You will play a key role in preparing pupils for transition to secondary school by reinforcing key skills, promoting independence, and nurturing confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support teaching and learning in Year 5 and Year 6 classrooms.
• Deliver targeted interventions in English, maths, and reading comprehension.
• Work 1:1 or with small groups to reinforce learning objectives and close attainment gaps.
• Assist the class teacher with planning, classroom management, and assessment activities.
• Support pupils with additional needs, ensuring inclusive participation in lessons.
• Contribute to a positive, calm, and purposeful classroom environment.
• Help prepare learning materials and resources as directed by teaching staff.
• Supervise pupils during transitions, activities, and playtime as needed.

Person Specification:

• Previous experience supporting teaching and learning within a primary school, ideally in Upper Key Stage 2.
• Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum, particularly SATs preparation.
• Confident supporting pupils with varying learning styles and needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
