Salary: Lead Practitioner Scale 60,299.00 - 66,444.00

An ambitious and high-achieving Academy in Hertfordshire is seeking an exceptional and inspiring Lead Practitioner of Science to join their team from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding classroom practitioner who is passionate about driving excellence in Science teaching and learning across the department and beyond.

The Role:

  • Lead and model high-quality Science teaching across KS3–KS5.
  • Support the continuous improvement of pedagogy and curriculum within the Science faculty.
  • Coach and mentor teaching staff, developing best practice across the department.
  • Contribute to whole-school teaching and learning strategies as part of the extended leadership team.
  • Play a key role in curriculum innovation, assessment design, and enrichment provision.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A highly effective Science teacher with a proven track record of strong student outcomes.
  • Experience in developing curriculum and improving teaching practice within a team.
  • Inspirational, collaborative, and committed to raising standards for all learners.
  • Confident teaching Biology, Chemistry, or Physics to at least KS4 (A-Level experience desirable).
