Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Occupational & Mental Health Focus
Location: Wandsworth, South West London
Days: 2–3 days per week
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £100–£115 per day (depending on experience)

A caring and inclusive Primary School in Wandsworth is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a part-time basis (2–3 days per week). This role is ideal for someone experienced in supporting pupils with mental health, emotional wellbeing, and occupational or sensory needs.

You’ll be working closely with pupils who benefit from a calm, structured, and nurturing approach to learning. The school prides itself on its supportive staff culture, excellent pastoral care, and collaborative teamwork across SEND and wellbeing departments.

The Role:

  • Provide targeted support for children with social, emotional, and sensory needs.
  • Assist with regulation strategies and daily routines, supporting occupational and physical development.
  • Work closely with the SENCo, class teacher, and external professionals (including OTs and counsellors).
  • Create a safe, trusting environment that promotes confidence and positive mental health.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN, SEMH, or sensory needs.
  • Understanding of Occupational Therapy principles and wellbeing strategies in school settings.
  • A patient, empathetic, and reflective practitioner.
  • Available 2–3 days per week on a long-term basis.
