Finance Officer – Hillingdon

Clarus Education are urgently recruiting for a Finance Officer to join a Multi-Academy Trust based in Hillingdon. This is an immediate start position, offering either a temp-to-perm route or a straight permanent contract for the right candidate.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and experienced finance professional who can step straight into a busy Trust finance team and make an immediate impact.

About the Role

Working closely with the Director of Finance & Operations, you will support the day-to-day financial management and compliance across the Trust.

Key duties will include:

• Managing purchase ledger processes from requisition to payment
• Processing invoices and ensuring correct authorisation procedures
• Completing monthly bank, VAT and balance sheet reconciliations
• Posting journals and supporting month-end and year-end processes
• Managing supplier queries and reconciling supplier statements
• Overseeing BACS payment runs
• Supporting payroll reconciliations (HMRC and pensions)
• Maintaining the Asset Register and financial records
• Supporting bursary and free school meal financial processes

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in a Finance Officer / Finance Assistant role
• Strong working knowledge of SAGE (essential)
• Experience with reconciliations, VAT returns and financial reporting
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong Excel and IT skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Due to the urgent, immediate start, applicants must hold a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Contract Details

• Immediate start required
• Temp-to-perm or permanent opportunity
• 37 hours per week
• Term time only + 10 additional days
• Based in Hillingdon
