We work with universities, colleges, training providers, and awarding organisations to modernise assessment while maintaining quality assurance, compliance, and inclusivity.
We are entering a significant growth phase and are seeking an ambitious, strategic, and results-driven Sales Manager to lead revenue growth and build a high-performance sales function.
Role Purpose
The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving new business acquisition, developing strategic partnerships, and building a structured B2B sales pipeline across higher education institutions, training providers, and professional bodies.
This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic oversight and direct sales execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Growth
· Develop and implement a national B2B sales strategy for SmartMarker.
· Identify and prioritise key market segments (universities, FE colleges, awarding bodies, government contracts).
· Set revenue targets and deliver measurable growth.
· Contribute to pricing strategy and commercial positioning.
2. Business Development
· Generate and manage a strong sales pipeline.
· Lead prospecting, outreach, and lead qualification activities.
· Conduct product demonstrations and tailored solution presentations.
· Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
· Build long-term relationships with decision-makers (Vice Chancellors, Deans, Quality Managers, Directors of Learning & Teaching).
3. Partnerships & Strategic Accounts
· Develop strategic partnerships with education networks and sector bodies.
· Manage key accounts and ensure high client satisfaction and retention.
· Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
4. Market Intelligence & Positioning
· Monitor EdTech and AI assessment market trends.
· Provide feedback to product and leadership teams on customer needs.
· Represent Prism Edtech at sector events, conferences, and exhibitions.
5. Sales Operations & Reporting
· Implement CRM systems and sales reporting processes.
· Forecast revenue and track KPIs
· Produce monthly sales performance reports for leadership.
Essential Requirements
· 5+ years’ experience in B2B sales (preferably EdTech, SaaS, or education sector).
· Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
· Experience selling into Higher Education, Further Education, or training providers.
· Strong understanding of SaaS sales cycles and consultative selling.
· Experience managing long sales cycles and complex procurement processes.
· Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
· Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset.
Desirable
· Experience selling AI or assessment-related solutions.
· Knowledge of OfS, QAA, awarding body regulations, or compliance frameworks.
· Existing network within UK higher education.
· Experience responding to government frameworks or DPS opportunities.
· Familiarity with LMS integrations (Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard).
