Clarus Education is recruiting a dedicated SEN TA to join a busy primary school in Lewisham. This is a long-term, full-time role, available for an immediate start, term-time only. Experience within a SEN ARP (Additional Resource Provision) setting is highly desirable, and the successful candidate will have hands-on experience supporting children with high-level learning, behavioural, and social-emotional needs.
In this role, you will:
· Deliver tailored support and interventions to children with very high needs, both 1:1 and in small groups
· Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning resources to meet each child’s requirements
· Support behaviour management and social-emotional development using evidence-based strategies
· Assist with speech and language, occupational therapy, and other specialist programs where required
· Work closely with class teachers, SENCO, therapists, and the wider support team to ensure progress
· Provide support within a SEN ARP setting, including adapting teaching strategies and environments to meet complex needs
· Contribute to detailed monitoring and record-keeping of pupil progress
In return, the school offers:
· A fully inclusive and supportive learning environment
· Opportunities to collaborate with a skilled SEN team and other professionals
· Long-term, stable employment with consistent hours (8:30am – 3:30pm, term-time only)
· Opportunities to develop specialist SEN skills and CPD
· A school culture that values high-quality support, collaboration, and professional growth
The ideal candidate:
· Proven experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, ideally within a SEN ARP or high-needs primary environment
· Strong knowledge of intervention strategies, behaviour management techniques, and SEN frameworks
· Skilled at supporting children with complex learning, behavioural, or social-emotional needs
· Confident using IEPs, monitoring systems, and intervention planning
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills
· Professional, organised, and committed to the wellbeing and development of all pupils
· Able to start immediately
