Plumbing and Gas Trainer / Assessor

We are looking for an Assessor/Trainer in Plumbing and Gas to join our busy, high‑performing Construction Department. This is a chance to use your industry expertise to shape the next generation of skilled professionals while working in a supportive, forward‑thinking team. You will lead a caseload of apprentices, guiding them through every stage of their programme and helping them build the knowledge, skills and behaviours they need to thrive. Your coaching and assessment will play a vital role in ensuring they are fully prepared for a confident, successful End Point Assessment.
What you’ll do
• Deliver engaging, high‑quality training, coaching and support
• Carry out workplace assessments and progress reviews
• Monitor, track and record apprentice progress with accuracy and clarity
• Prepare apprentices thoroughly for End Point Assessment
• Build strong, professional relationships with employers across the region
• Contribute to business development and employer engagement activity
• Keep up to date with industry standards, regulations and Health & Safety
• Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation and records
This role offers agile working, blending on‑site delivery, workplace visits and remote administrative work from home.
What you’ll bring
• A Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Plumbing
• Strong, relevant industry experience
• Assessor and/or IQA qualifications (desirable)
• Experience teaching or assessing (desirable)
• Solid understanding of Apprenticeship Standards and EPA requirements
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
• Confidence using digital systems and tools
• Flexibility, professionalism and a collaborative approach
• A valid UK driving licence and access to a business‑insured vehicle, or the ability to travel across Cambridgeshire and neighbouring counties
