Full Time | Long Term (until July 2026) | 8:45am – 3:15pm | Start ASAP

Are you a patient, calm and resilient Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children’s emotional and social development?

A friendly and inclusive Primary School in Barnet is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 2 pupil who needs additional support with emotional regulation and behaviour. This is a long-term role running until the end of the academic year, with the potential to continue for the right candidate.

The Role

  • Providing consistent 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with emotional and behavioural needs
  • Helping the child to regulate emotions, focus on learning, and develop positive relationships
  • Using calm and empathetic strategies to manage behaviour and promote self-confidence
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external agencies to implement support plans
  • Encouraging engagement through structured routine, praise and clear communication

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs in a primary setting
  • Patient, understanding and confident when handling challenging situations
  • Committed to helping children succeed both academically and emotionally
  • Able to commit to full-time hours (8:45am – 3:15pm, Monday to Friday)
