Are you a caring and experienced Teaching Assistant looking to support young learners with additional needs in a nurturing primary school environment?

A welcoming Primary School in Lewisham is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team, working across Nursery to Year 2 within small, specialist classes of 6–8 pupils.

This is a long-term, full-time role starting ASAP, ideal for someone who is patient, compassionate, and confident supporting children with a range of special educational needs.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils aged 3–7 with a variety of SEN, including ASD, speech and language, and developmental delays
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to help children achieve their personal learning goals
  • Assisting with personal care and daily routines where required
  • Working closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals to deliver tailored support
  • Promoting independence, positive behaviour, and emotional wellbeing in a safe, structured environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with Early Years and KS1 pupils who have additional needs
  • Comfortable supporting with personal care
  • Nurturing, patient, and adaptable with a genuine passion for supporting children’s progress
  • Able to commit to full-time hours (8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
