Sports Lecturer – Maternity Cover (Part-Time)
Location: Uxbridge
Contract: Fixed Term until 18th December 2026 (Maternity Cover)
Hours: 28.8 hours per week (Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays + one other day of your choice)
Salary: Actual £26,742 - £37,294

A leading Further Education College in Uxbridge is seeking a Sports Lecturer to join their dynamic Sport & Fitness team on a part-time, fixed-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise and enthusiasm to a department offering a range of successful BTEC Sport programmes from Level 1 to Level 3.

The Role

You’ll plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons across vocational Sport courses, supporting students aged 16–19 to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Working within a collaborative and supportive department, you’ll play an important role in maintaining the college’s strong reputation for quality teaching and student achievement.

About You

  • Hold a degree in Sport or a related discipline.
  • Ideally possess a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent) or willing to work towards.
  • Have experience teaching vocational Sport qualifications, particularly BTEC programmes.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage young learners.
