An ambitious and inclusive secondary school in Newham is seeking an enthusiastic and committed KS3/KS4 Science Teacher to join its supportive Science faculty from April 2026. The role

  • Teach Science across KS3 and your specialism (Biology/Chemistry/Physics) at KS4.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging lessons that support excellent progress for all learners.
  • Use assessment data effectively to identify gaps and adapt teaching to meet diverse needs.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, schemes of work and enrichment within the Science department.
  • Play a full part in the life of the school, including form tutoring, duties and wider school events.

The ideal candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) and a degree in a Science-related subject.
  • Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 in a UK secondary school (ECTs and experienced teachers welcome).
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible, engaging way.
  • High expectations of behaviour and achievement, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people.
  • A reflective, collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to departmental improvement and whole-school initiatives.
