Are you a passionate and dedicated Year 2 Class Teacher looking for a new opportunity in a thriving 4 form entry primary school in Redbridge? We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Year 2 Class Teacher to join our friendly and supportive team. This role is suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs who have completed their training and gained classroom experience through supply or short-term cover roles.

The Role – Year 2 Class Teacher

We are looking for a motivated Year 2 Class Teacher who can:

  • Plan, teach, and assess high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated learning experiences to meet the needs of all pupils
  • Support the school’s ethos and maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning
  • Track and monitor pupil progress and use assessment to inform teaching
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Contribute to school life through extracurricular activities and whole-school events

 

Responsibilities

As a Year 2 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering effective and inspiring lessons across the curriculum
  • Assessing pupils’ progress and maintaining accurate records
  • Setting high expectations for all pupils and promoting positive behaviour
  • Providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs
  • Engaging with parents and carers to support pupil progress
  • Contributing to school development and working as part of a professional team
  • Participating in staff meetings, training, and professional development

 

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this Year 2 Class Teacher role, you must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship
  • Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1, including planning, assessment, and delivery
  • Be confident teaching all subjects within the Year 2 curriculum
  • Be an excellent communicator with strong classroom management skills
  • Be adaptable, resilient, and committed to continuous professional development

We are open to ECTs who have experience teaching after their teacher training in supply or short-term cover roles.

 

Salary

  • MPS/UPS – £37,870 – £56,154 (Outer London pay scale)

 

Start Date

  • ASAP or February Half Term start
