We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Secondary Assistant Headteacher (Teaching and Learning) to join our highly collaborative and welcoming leadership team in Waltham Cross. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Development
As Secondary Assistant Headteacher (Teaching and Learning), you will support the Principal and Vice Principals in developing and communicating a clear strategic vision for the Academy. You will motivate and empower others to deliver this vision, model the Academy’s values, and contribute to the effective leadership and management of change. You will also work closely with Governors, the Sponsor, partner schools and external agencies as appropriate.
Teaching, Learning and Students
The role of Secondary Assistant Headteacher (Teaching and Learning) includes ensuring that the curriculum meets the needs of all students, from those entering with low prior attainment to the most able. You will champion inclusive and innovative approaches to learning, promote high standards of behaviour, involve students as partners in their education, and support strong pastoral systems, student welfare and anti-bullying procedures. You will oversee effective assessment, tracking and reporting systems and evaluate curriculum quality and value for money.
Leading and Managing Staff
This Secondary Assistant Headteacher (Teaching and Learning) role requires a leader who can motivate, develop and inspire staff at all levels. You will ensure effective deployment and performance management, promote high-quality professional development, and sustain a culture of high expectations, ambition and shared responsibility across the Academy.
