The Role

Clarus Education is partnering with a high-performing secondary school in Redbridge to appoint a passionate and skilled English Teacher on a full-time, permanent basis.

This opportunity is ideal for an English specialist who is confident delivering engaging lessons that inspire a love of literature and language. The successful candidate will join a supportive department committed to high academic standards, creativity and strong outcomes for students.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 opportunities available depending on experience)
• Plan and deliver well-structured, engaging lessons that challenge and motivate learners
• Use assessment effectively to support progress and raise attainment
• Establish high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement
• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
• Support students’ literacy, confidence and academic growth

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)- Essential
• Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting
• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English
• Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
• Commitment to inclusive practice and continuous professional development
