History Teacher – Secondary

The Opportunity

Clarus Education is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Newham to appoint an experienced and knowledgeable History Teacher on a permanent, full-time basis.

This role is suited to a confident classroom practitioner with strong subject expertise and a passion for bringing history to life. The successful candidate will play an active role in delivering an engaging curriculum that encourages critical thinking, debate and historical enquiry.

Your Role

  • Teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities at Key Stage 5 depending on experience
  • Design and deliver well-structured, stimulating lessons
  • Use assessment to inform planning and support pupil progress
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom culture
  • Contribute to departmental development and wider school initiatives
  • Support students’ academic progress and personal development

About You

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)- Essential
  • Have proven experience teaching History in a secondary school setting
  • Demonstrate strong curriculum knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject
  • Be confident managing behaviour and motivating learners
  • Be committed to high standards, inclusion and continuous improvement
