Electrical Tutor and Assessor – Cambridge

About the Role

Clarus Education is working with a well-established academy in Cambridge to recruit a skilled Electrical Tutor and Assessor. This is a full-time, permanent role ideal for a qualified electrician looking to move off the tools, or an experienced electrical tutor or assessor seeking a new opportunity within education.

The successful candidate will deliver vocational electrical teaching and assessments to a varied group of learners in an academy setting, supporting their academic and practical development. Previous teaching or assessing experience is desirable, but full training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging electrical lessons aligned with vocational qualifications
  • Assess learners’ work in line with awarding body and academy standards
  • Support learners’ academic and practical progress
  • Maintain accurate records and assessment documentation
  • Contribute to academy life and departmental development
  • Attend staff training and professional development sessions

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Fully qualified Domestic Level 3 Electrician
  • Minimum 5 years’ industry experience
  • Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good standard of English, Maths and ICT
  • Able to manage time effectively and work independently
  • Willing to attend training courses and CPD sessions
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a small team

Desirable Skills (Training Provided if Required)

  • Qualified Assessor
  • Qualified Teacher / Teaching Qualification
  • 18th Edition qualification
  • Inspection and Testing qualifications
