Our Middlesex College is seeking an inspiring and committed English Lecturer to join our team on a full-time, long-term basis, with a clear view to a permanent role being offered. This is an exciting opportunity for an English Lecturer who is passionate about making English meaningful, creative, and accessible for all learners.

Salary: £26,904 – £43,110 per year (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time, long term, with potential for permanency

The Role

As an English Lecturer, you will teach Entry Level 3 to Level 2 courses, including GCSE and Functional Skills. You will deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that support students to develop their reading, writing, and speaking skills, while building confidence and a genuine enjoyment of English.

You will plan creative and effective learning activities, assess and track student progress, and provide targeted support to help learners achieve their academic and personal goals. Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with colleagues to develop resources and continually enhance the learning experience.

About You

The successful English Lecturer will have prior teaching experience and a strong commitment to student progress and wellbeing. While an English qualification is welcome, this role is also ideal for candidates from drama, performing arts, creative writing, or other creative disciplines who can bring energy, originality, and fresh perspectives into the classroom.

You will be enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to engage learners with diverse needs and abilities, inspiring them to develop confidence and a lasting connection to the English language.
