Teacher of Mathematics

Location: South-East London
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: April 2026

Clarus Education is working in partnership with a highly regarded and academically ambitious secondary school in South-East London to recruit a Teacher of Mathematics from April 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a large, dynamic and high-performing Mathematics department, where staff work collaboratively to deliver outstanding outcomes for pupils. The successful candidate will teach motivated, high-achieving students across a range of year groups within the senior school.

Applications are welcomed from qualified teachers, ECTs, recent graduates, career changers, and individuals returning to teaching. Comprehensive support and training are available, including access to a school-based teacher training programme leading to QTS for applicants new to the profession.

The Role

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of a rich and challenging Mathematics curriculum, inspiring pupils to develop a deep understanding of the subject while encouraging intellectual curiosity beyond examination requirements.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Mathematics
  • The ability to inspire and challenge pupils of high academic ability

  • An interest in enriching learning beyond the curriculum, including competitions, challenges, and enrichment activities
  • Strong pastoral awareness and a commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience teaching Mathematics in a secondary school setting
