Our Bexley Primary School is proud to offer an exciting opportunity for a committed and compassionate Specialist ARP KS1 Teacher to join our growing Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP), based within our inclusive mainstream primary school.
This role is ideal for a Specialist ARP KS1 Teacher who is passionate about supporting young children with SEN and SEMH, and who thrives in a nurturing, well-supported environment where individual progress and wellbeing are prioritised.
About the Provision
Our ARP supports KS1 pupils with a range of SEN and SEMH needs who access a reduced and adapted curriculum. Classes are intentionally small, with consistent additional support staff, enabling high levels of personalised teaching and care. The Specialist ARP KS1 Teacher plays a central role in shaping provision, routines, and learning experiences that help pupils succeed both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
The successful Specialist ARP KS1 Teacher will:
· Deliver high-quality, adaptive teaching aligned to individual needs
· Plan and implement a bespoke curriculum focused on early learning, communication, and emotional regulation
· Foster a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
· Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCo, parents, and external professionals
· Contribute to EHCP reviews, assessment, and progress tracking
Person Specification
We are seeking a Specialist ARP KS1 Teacher who:
· Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
· Has experience teaching KS1 and/or pupils with SEN in UK mainstream or special school settings
· Demonstrates strong understanding of SEN, SEMH, and inclusive practice
· Is reflective, resilient, and committed to making a long-term difference
