Experienced Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools (Waltham Forest)

Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Day-to-Day, Short-Term & Long-Term Supply
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (flexible days available)
Location: Waltham Forest, North-East London

Primary schools throughout Waltham Forest are preparing for January 2026 and are looking to secure experienced Teaching Assistants to support their classrooms on a flexible supply basis. This role offers the chance to step into a variety of school settings, provide valuable classroom support, and choose work patterns that suit your availability and lifestyle. 

About the Role: Teaching Assistant

  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Provide 1:1, small group or general classroom support
  • Assist teachers with behaviour management and daily routines
  • Support pupils with additional needs when required
  • Help maintain a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Adhere to safeguarding, behaviour and school policies 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification preferred
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a UK primary school is essential
  • SEN experience is desirable but not essential
  • Confident in managing behaviour and supporting learning
  • Reliable, punctual and professional
  • Adaptable and comfortable working across different year groups
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
