About the Role

In this rewarding position, you’ll provide targeted 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs — including those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) requirements and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). • Helping students manage emotions, develop communication, and access learning.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and reinforcing social and emotional development.
  • Working closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and external professionals to implement personalised support strategies.

About You

You’ll be an empathetic and resilient Teaching Assistant with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people. You’ll thrive on helping students overcome barriers to learning and gain confidence both inside and outside the classroom.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience supporting students with SEN, particularly SEMH or EHCPs, in a school setting.
  • A calm, nurturing approach and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

Desirable:

  • Relevant SEN training or TA qualification (Level 2/3).
  • Experience working within secondary education.

Why Join This School?
