About the Role

You’ll be supporting pupils across Reception and Key Stage 1, working closely with class teachers to deliver engaging lessons and promote a positive learning environment. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who enjoys nurturing young children, encouraging their confidence, and supporting their early academic and social development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support for pupils in small groups or on a one‑to‑one basis.
  • Assisting in the preparation of classroom resources and activities.
  • Supporting the teacher with classroom management and behaviour strategies.
  • Encouraging pupils’ independence and resilience in learning.
  • Contributing to the school’s caring, inclusive ethos.

About You

You’ll be an enthusiastic, reliable, and caring individual who has experience supporting children in an educational setting—ideally within EYFS or Key Stage 1. Strong communication skills, patience, and a genuine passion for working with young learners are essential.

Essential skills include:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant (school‑based or through placements).
  • A good understanding of the EYFS or KS1 curriculum.
  • A positive, child‑centred approach to learning support.
  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years equivalent (desirable but not essential).
