About the role

From January, a primary school in Westminster is looking for a dedicated Year 6 Intervention Tutor to support pupils in the crucial run-up to SATs. This is a long-term, full-time post working within a supportive, driven Year 6 team.

What you will be doing

  • Running focused intervention sessions in Maths and English for Year 6
  • Working with small groups and individual pupils to close gaps in learning
  • Using assessment data to identify needs and adapt your intervention plans
  • Feeding back to the Year 6 teachers and SLT on progress and next steps
  • Developing pupils’ exam technique, resilience and confidence ahead of SATs

What the school is looking for

  • Strong, recent experience with Year 6 SATs classes
  • Excellent knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and SATs expectations (Reading, SPaG, Maths)
  • Proven ability to plan, deliver and evaluate impactful interventions
  • Confident behaviour management and a calm, encouraging manner
  • A flexible, team-focused attitude and willingness to slot into an established Year 6 team
