Behaviour Mentor – Primary School (KS1–KS2)

Permanent, Full-Time | Starting Salary: £26,342

Are you passionate about transforming the lives of young people? Do you have the skills, resilience, and empathy to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our vibrant and nurturing Primary School team.

 

About the Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils across KS1 and KS2, providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support to help them regulate, engage, and succeed in school. You will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and a safe learning environment where every child can thrive.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Support identified children with SEMH needs through tailored interventions.

·         Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and progress.

·         Implement behaviour strategies and individual support plans.

·         Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCo, and external agencies.

·         Promote emotional literacy, resilience, and self-regulation.

·         Contribute to the wider school community and safeguarding culture.

·         Essential: Prior experience working with children with SEMH needs (KS1/KS2 preferred).

·         A calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent approach.

·         Strong behaviour management skills and an understanding of trauma-informed practice.

·         Ability to adapt strategies to meet individual needs.

·         Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

·         A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and equality.
