POSITION: 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant – Year 1
PAY: £90–£120 per day
CONTRACT: Full Time & Long Term
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Camden is seeking an experienced 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil on a long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and resilient practitioner who is passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

About the role: 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant – Year 1

· Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with SEMH needs
· Implement strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
· Build a trusting relationship to help the pupil engage with learning
· Support the class teacher in planning inclusive and accessible activities
· Work closely with the SENCO and external professionals
· Safeguard pupils at all times
· Full-time, long-term role starting ASAP
· Primary School located in Camden, North London

The ideal candidate: 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant

· Must have previous experience supporting SEMH pupils (EYFS/KS1 desirable)
· Calm, patient, nurturing approach
· Confident using de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies
· Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
· Reliable, emotionally resilient, and committed to pupil progress
· Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
