A welcoming primary school in Southwark is seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team for an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about inclusion and making a real difference in children’s lives.

About the role

You’ll be providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with special educational needs, helping them to access learning and reach their potential in a nurturing school environment. Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and outside professionals, you’ll play a key role in supporting social, emotional, and academic progress.

Duties include

  • Providing tailored classroom support to children with additional needs.
  • Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Supporting the development of social and communication skills.
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive learning environment for all pupils.

About you

  • Experience supporting children with SEN (especially autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs) is desirable.
  • A proactive, empathetic attitude and the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping young learners succeed.
