Location: Cambridge

Contract: Long-term (covering staff absence)
Salary: £28,385 – £41,782 per annum
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week)

About the Role - Creative Media Lecturer

We are seeking an inspiring and versatile Lecturer in Creative Media to teach across Levels 1–3. You’ll be part of a dynamic department delivering courses in film, television, digital content, radio, and VFX, with opportunities to support animation and motion graphics as part of a diverse and evolving timetable.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a creative and supportive team, contributing to course development and inspiring the next generation of media professionals.

Key Responsibilities - Creative Media Lecturer

  • Deliver engaging lessons in Creative Digital Media (film, TV, digital, and broadcast production).
  • Support learners’ development through tutorials, mentoring, and progression advice.
  • Contribute to course design and curriculum development within the Creative Industries department.
  • Embed safeguarding, equality and diversity, sustainability, English and Maths within teaching practice.
  • Maintain professional standards and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Level 2 / GCSE / O Level in English and Maths (grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).
  • A degree in Media or a related subject, or significant industry experience.
  • A Full Cert Ed or PGCE (or willingness to work towards this).
  • Experience in Creative Digital Broadcast and Film Media.

Desirable:

  • Experience with assessment and moderation across awarding bodies.
  • Knowledge of IQA and UCAS processes.
  • Experience working as a tutor supporting student progression.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding of modern media practices and the film and television production process.
  • Excellent teamwork, organisation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and uphold professional standards.

Additional Information

  • Some evening, weekend, or holiday work may be required.
  • The role is initially to cover staff sickness, so the contract duration is currently unspecified.
