We are recruiting for an inspiring Lecturer in Creative Media to teach across Levels 1–3. This is a media-led post — film, TV, digital content, radio and VFX, with the flexibility to support animation/motion graphics as part of a broader Creative Media timetable.
We are looking for someone to cover staff sickness so the length of the contract is unknown. This is a full time (37 hour) position.
The essential attributes that the candidate must possess while entering the role encompass specific qualifications and relevant experience. Firstly, the qualifications required include a Level 2/GCSE/O Level English and Maths grade C or above or equivalent. It is also essential to have a Degree in a Media or related subject, or excellent Media industry related experience. The candidates should hold a Full Cert Ed or PGCE teaching qualification or be willing to work towards acquiring one.
Additionally, the ideal candidate must have relevant experience in the field. This includes experience of contemporary Creative Digital Broadcast and Film Media. It would also be advantageous to have previous experience of assessment across different levels and awarding bodies. Knowledge about the IQA process, the UCAS process, and experience of working as a tutor will also prove beneficial.
The primary purpose of this job role is to;
Provide high quality teaching and access to learning in addition to undertaking associated tutorial duties. It is expected that the post holder will contribute to course design, development of programmes and the expansion of the area generally.
1. To primarily teach in the department of Creative Industries, Digital Media, TV, Film and Radio. Levels 1-3. May also be required to teach on other programmes at levels 1- 5 as the department grows and develops in line with market needs.
2. To deliver an expansive and exploratory programme in Creative Digital Media. Must be able to embrace contemporary digital practices/skills as well as traditional techniques. Also embracing safeguarding, equality and diversity, sustainability, English and Maths subjects.
3. To be able to provide focussed tutorial support and progression advice for learners.
Qualifications:
· Level 2/GCSE/O Level English and Maths grade C or above or equivalent.
· Degree in a Media or related subject, or excellent Media industry related experience.
· Full Cert Ed or PGCE teaching qualification or willing to work towards.
Related Experience:
· Experience of contemporary Creative Digital Broadcast and Film Media
Special circumstances
· Some evening, weekend and summer holiday work will be required.
